THE URBAN HINTERLANDS OF KALINGA IN THE EARLY HISTORIC PERIOD: Archaeology at Sisupalgarh and Talapada
Monica Smith is Professor in the Department of Anthropology at UCLA. Her research interests are comparative modern and ancient urbanism, trade and economics in prehistory, archaeological method and theory, the anthropology of food, South Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. She has published extensively, has worked at a number of excavations and surveys in India, and is Co-Director of the Sisupalgarh excavation.
