The Ancient India and Iran Trust Michaelmas Term lecture programme begins this Friday 17th October at 5.30pm with a talk by Dr Imre Galambos on ‘A Forgotten Civilisation – Remains of the Tangut Kingdom in Central Asia’

Refreshments from 5pm. All welcome.

Having studied for several years in China (Tianjin) and Hungary, Imre Galambos received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley with a dissertation on the orthography of Chinese writing during the Warring States period. On graduation, he started working for the International Dunhuang Project at the British Library and became involved in the study of Dunhuang manuscripts and the manuscript culture of medieval China in general. After ten years at the British Library, he came to Cambridge in 2012 where he is University Lecturer in Pre-modern Chinese Studies.
